If it’s nature you’re looking for, you will find it in Forest Lakes. Bordering on Point Washington State Forest, the entrance to the neighborhood is just around the corner from the Longleaf Pine Trailhead. The subdivision is located on 30a in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Owners have an additional layer of safety since the neighborhood is gated.
There is a total of 150 residential lots in the community. Currently, only about one-half of the lots have a house built on them. The homes are a mixture of coastal and southern architecture. To maintain the highest level of aesthetics, garages are located in the back of the houses.
Forest Lakes neighborhood and area amenities
Within the subdivision, there is a lake with a fishing pier, and walking paths winding through the preservation area. Forest Lakes is less than a ½ mile from Gulfview Heights beach access. This public beach offers parking, restrooms, rinse-off showers, seasonal lifeguards, and beach condition flags. There is a decent amount of parking for cars but sometimes you may have better luck finding parking for a golf cart.
The Timpoochee Trail paved bike trail is also easily accessible from Forest Lakes. The community center has two swimming pools, and a beautiful covered grilling area with plenty of seating, a sink for easy cleanup, and ceiling fans to keep the breezes flowing.
