The Coastal Dune Lakes are thought to be 2000-10000 years old. The Coastal Dune Lakes water levels fluctuate with rain. When the levels get too high the Dune Lakes will open up a natural inlet and empty in the Gulf of Mexico.
Activities that can be done in the Coastal Dune Lakes include Stand-up Paddle Boarding, kayaking, and taking a canoe out for a paddle. There is an enormous amount of wildlife and beauty to be seen along these Lakes and 30A.
One of the newest additions to the South Walton area is the first artificial reef placed off of Grayton Beach in the summer of 2015.

1. Stallworth Coastal Dune Lake
The Stallworth Coastal Dune Lake is the first lake on the western portion of 30A. Stallworth Lake backs up to Topsail Preserve and has many beautiful homes around the lake.
2. Lake Allen Lake
Lake Allen Lake in is located in Dune Allen beach and is right next to Oyster Lake.
3. Oyster Dune Lake
Oyster Lake in Dune Allen beach is a good sized lake with only a few lucky home on its boundaries. The lake has a bridge that is only for walking that crosses it and makes it easy for residents from across the lake to get to the beach. Oyster Lake has also been home to A YOLO Board paddle series contest.
4. Draper Lake
Draper Lake is surrounded by the Draper Lake Coastal Village. This beautiful Coastal Dune Lake is on the western side of Blue Mountain and has been very well protected and looked after by the Draper Lake Coastal Village. You can get a great view of Draper Lake from either the beach or along 30a. There is a bridge that crossed the Lake on 30a and the 30A bike path. There is a separate bridge inside Draper Lake Coastal Village.
5. Big Redfish Lake
Big Redfish Lake is a smaller dune lake in Blue Mountain. During the summer look for wildflowers and resident or migratory birds.
6. Alligator Lake
Alligator Lake is a smaller dune lake in Blue Mountain.
7. Little Redfish Lake
Little Redfish Lake is a smaller dune lake in Blue Mountain.
8. Western Lake
Western Lake is located around Grayton Beach and Watercolor. It is the largest of the lakes at 220 acres. You can capture excellent views from Grayton Beach, the Grayton Beach State Park, and Watercolor. There is a boat ramp in Grayton Beach near the Redbar. The Grayton State Park also has an area to launch a kayak or Stand up paddleboard. Watercolor boathouse offers YOLO Board rentals and kayak and canoe rentals as well. There is a bridge that has unbelievable views of the lake at the Watercolor Boathouse.
9. Eastern Lake
Eastern Lake on 30a is another one of the biggest Coastal Dune Lakes. The Old Florida Fish House is located right on the lake and is a great place to dine and listen to awesome music during the evening.
10. Deer Lake
Deer Lake is located inside the Deer Lake State Park. In the park, there is a boardwalk that takes you to the beach. While around the lake look for some of the rare plants such as Gulf coast lupine, spoonflower, pitcher plants, and Curtiss’ sand grass-one of the largest populations found in Florida-are found in the park.
11.. Camp Creek Lake
You can capture views of Camp Creek Lake within the grounds of Watersound off of 30A. Watersound is a coastal beachfront community with a Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyards architecture.
